What We Do

Family Support

The TPCAF provides funds to families of Texas law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty through the Fallen Officer Fund.

The TPCAF helps support leadership training for law enforcement officers.

Accreditation

The TPCAF sponsors an accreditation for law enforcement agencies.

Fallen Officer Fund

The Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation provides funds to families of Texas law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty through the Fallen Officer Fund. If an officer dies in the line of duty, the Foundation, as soon as possible, delivers a check to the surviving spouse, children, or parents, whichever is applicable.

No application process is used; only the notification to the Foundation of a qualifying death and the appropriate person to whom the check is made out to. The law enforcement officer does not have to have been a member of any specific law enforcement agency, nor does the officer have to have been a member of any law enforcement association. The purpose of the donation is to provide immediate funds to a family in a time of crisis.

Since 2001, money has been donated to the families of Texas law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. Funds are currently budgeted for this fiscal year to continue the program and will also be budgeted in future years.
