INNOVATION AWARD – Recognizes members who demonstrate forward-thinking leadership by developing and implementing innovative programs within their department and/or community. These initiatives reflect creative problem-solving and a willingness to move beyond traditional approaches, resulting in meaningful impact and positive recognition for both the individual and their agency.
MIKE GENTRY EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD – Recognizes a TPCA member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership within the law enforcement profession. This award honors a chief whose leadership, whether within their community or through broader service opportunities, has made a meaningful impact and brought positive recognition to both the individual and their agency.
BARBARA CHILDRESS TRAILBLAZER AWARD – Honors a female police executive who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, innovation, and influence while serving at the executive level of a law enforcement organization. This award recognizes a woman whose career reflects significant contributions to her agency, the law enforcement profession, and the community. The nominee exemplifies courage, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to mutual respect, setting a powerful example for current and future leaders.
Awardees will be recognized at our 2026 annual conference in Corpus Christi.
